I’m going to have fun and list reasons why I don’t like Kerry tomorrow, and then reasons why I don’t like Bush the day after. I’m taking a rest today.

Cutting the deficit in half (not to mention balancing it) is of profound irrelevance when faced with this horrible fact: within the next two presidential administrations, $74 TRILLION dollars (in today’s $, let alone in 8 years) worth of Social Security and Medicare liabilities will be coming due from the wave of retiring Baby Boomers.
That figure is far, far more than the net worth of the entire economy. And guess who will be paying for this unthinkable liability? Your generation, m’lad. Your generation, for starters. And then your children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s too.
